The Costa del Sol offers numerous beautiful places to live, depending on your preferences and budget. Check out some of the locations below for more details and information on the different areas and what they each have to offer.

Duquesa:

La Duquesa is located next to the coastal town of Sabinillas and west of Estepona. The town is centred on a very popular marina, with great restaurants, bars and cafés and has developed a thriving expat community over the years.

Duquesa is still one of the more affordable areas along the Coast, offering a variety of villas, townhouses and apartments with the average price of properties being below 350,000€.

Casares:

Casares is a beautiful Andalusian white village situated a short drive away from Estepona. The village itself is picturesque and tranquil, only nine miles away from the busier Coast and features a wide range of properties at reasonable prices.

This area is ideal for those looking to be further away in a peaceful, more traditional area, while still being close enough to lively towns and amenities. No private education is offered in Casares however, it is only a 10-minute drive from Estepona and a variety of educational centres.

Estepona:

Estepona is known as “the Garden of the Costa del Sol”, due to the streets and squares being decorated and framed by a large number of incredible flowers. Over the past few years, Estepona has been able to maintain its traditional atmosphere while still opening itself up to new developments and modern residential complexes.

Although Estepona prices have risen in the past few years due to its growing popularity with both locals and expats, it still offers excellent value for money in comparison with its glamorous neighbours. It now offers a variety of properties from large independent villas, country homes, townhouses, apartments and penthouses.

Benahavís:

Benahavís is a Spanish mountain village situated between Marbella and Estepona, seven kilometers from the Coast. Due to the large number of high-end developments and villas that surround the area, Benahavís is one of the richest municipalities in Spain and in turn, one of the most expensive areas to buy in.

At the heart of the municipality, lies the traditional and tranquil village of Benahavís with incredible restaurants and bars. Nueva Andalucía:

Nueva Andalucía is an idyllic residential area situated within walking distance of Puerto Banús. Unlike Puerto Banús however, this area is more secluded and peaceful, with stunning LA-style villas, tall palm trees, the mountainous backdrop of La Concha and prestigious golf courses like Los Naranjos and Magna Marbella.

This area is incredibly sought-after and offers a variety of choice of properties, from large modern villas to luxurious apartment complexes. It’s also home to Aloha College, one of the top private international schools in the whole of Spain, thus making it a very popular choice for expats and their families.

This is an ideal area for those who want peace and quiet, while still being very close to the liveliness of Puerto Banús and Marbella.

The Golden Mile:

The famous Golden Mile is a stunning residential area and stretch of around six kilometres, boasting incredible beaches, hotels, beach clubs and restaurants. Here you’ll discover incredible beach side villas, impressive mansions and exclusive apartments lining one of the most luxurious seafronts on the Costa del Sol.

Since the 1950s, this area has been a staple of luxury and glamour. The iconic Marbella Club Hotel, built in 1954 by Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe, has attracted a long list of Hollywood stars, celebrities, royalty and socialites, paving its way to becoming one of the most exclusive areas in Europe.

As a result, the Golden Mile is now one of the most desirable destinations and a prime area for luxury real estate with properties reaching the millions.

Marbella:

A popular jet-set destination for people worldwide, Marbella is a beautiful coastal town that offers both glamour and Andalusian charm.

The old town is filled with whitewashed buildings, bright flowers, fragrant orange trees and incredible restaurants. While further down on the Golden Mile lies the two famous five-star resorts of Puente Romano and Marbella Club Hotel, offering modern-day resort amenities and luxury dining.

The area offers a variety of choice of villas, townhouses and apartment complexes and is ideal for families, young professionals and second-home owners.

Sierra Blanca:

Sierra Blanca is an exclusive and luxurious gated community residing in the hills above Marbella’s Golden Mile offering privacy, an elegant living environment and incredible views.

Similar to La Zagaleta, Sierra Blanca’s collection of villas are built to the highest standards, boasting luxurious modern and traditional villas, extensive manicured gardens, pools and 24-hour security. There is a high demand for properties in this area, with prices for independent villas starting at two million euros.

The exclusivity and privileged location of Sierra Blanca makes it one of the most desirable areas in Marbella for clients looking to buy a luxury home.

Elviria:

Elviria is a beautiful residential area to the East of Marbella, only a 10-minute drive from the centre. While being close to Marbella, the prices here are slightly lower in comparison (depending on property type), making it an excellent choice for people looking to relocate or buy a holiday home.
